Be still...

Back on the Book of Me here, after passing (for the moment anyway) on last month's 10 favourite things challenge as I found it just too hard! Is that a bit weird of me? It's partly because I don't really want to take pics just to scrap them for a lo when I have soooo many unused ones lying around already, but also I found it really hard to think of 10 things that I like above others. Ah well. This month was better. The prompt was 'Be' and I thought of this piccie at once. It was taken in the late 80s on a lovely summer outing up north, and the title is something I need to keep remembering too. So, here's to next month Roz and Kirsty (UKS thread prompt).

Grey skies in Glasgow

Yes, that's what we've had today I'm afraid. Still it keeps me inside to carry on with the decluttering (what is it about nice relaxing holidays that makes you come home and think I have to do something, I can't live in all this mess?). I've got rid of 4 bin bags so far, and most of it is paper and just real rubbish, not even stuff you could give to a charity shop. So now I have tidy shelves, but the carpet can hardly be seen. Ah well... just to make sure I keep going and finish it off here's tonight's lo to remind me!

A me to the world interface system!

Had some fun with a couple of los, seems like ages since I've done any, where has March gone already? The hands one is following Kirsty and Roz's Book of Me prompts on UKS, and this month the challenge was to - use your hand prints! I kept it very simple, partly because I've been doing all my BOM los on 8x8s and I have big hands so didn't have much room left, and partly cos I just thought that well, my hands do everything in my life, so I wanted to sum it up in one sentence rather than keep on stating things. So my sentence is........"My hands - a me to the world interface system!" Can you tell I've been doing computer courses again??
My other lo is for my UKS team's in house fortnightly challenge, and this was a hard one - to scrap your favourite waste of time - I mean how can you choose when I have so many? We also had to use green and orange. So my favourite waste of time is..... words. Yep, in all guises (including blogs!), if I want to waste time I usually read a book. or play scrabble or boggle, or text, or email or......... So, what's your favourite waste of time?

Independent

No, not the newspaper, but my latest Book of Me page! Following Roz and Kirsty's UKS prompts, February's challenge was to use an emotion and a colour you associate with it. I found it quite hard as I didn't want to repeat anything I'd done on Shimelle's You Think You Know Me class, which covered 10 different moods, but this old piccie came to mind, (and it's a good 25 years old now!), and if there's one thing I always feel (or feel I have to be!), or get accused of being, it's independent. I'd also fancied trying to use acrylic paints, I've been harbouring quite a few wee tubes which came free with a magazine I used to subscribe to, so this was my chance to play with them. And it was so much easier than I expected. In fact I liked it so much I got out the two canvases I'd got tucked away (as you do), painted them in two different shades of green, and did a double layout for the walls, so to speak, using piccies from last summer of my family. Will definitely need to do more of this. Not least because having singled my sister out on the bottom one, I might need to do some other folk for the sake of equality!
Well, I did enjoy my scrapping day yesterday, but better get round to doing some housework today ... hope you all have a good weekend.

You know that I will never really, truly and entirely grow up!

This is following Roz and Kirsty's Book of Me prompts on UKS, (we've already done I Am, One day, and If I didn't). Seemed strange doing a layout that's not Christmassy! But I am enjoying this set of challenges, and will keep to the black card theme throughout.

Book of Me

Well I'm one of those scrappers that doesn't have kids, and (even worse?) didn't have a working camera for many of my 2 lovely nephews' earlier years, so I kind of scrap myself a lot... But I still decided to follow Roz and Kirsty's Book of Me prompts on UKS, and have done the first three, and am intrigued and excited about what the next one will be! I Am This was hard, to begin with all I could think of was 'I am me' which wasn't very helpful really. I didn't want to do the lots of individual words thing cos in all honesty I'd then have had to say things like 'fat', 'disorganised', 'late' etc but once I had decided on the piccie the journalling came quite easily and reads: I am a traveller, in life, in time, in music, in love, in wonder, in art, in me, myself, I ... I will always go forward, I will always look back, I will always be what I am, what I have been, what I will become... One Day This one actually started me off in the BOM. It was a challenge for the Harry Potter cybercrop on UKS and was done really quickly, but gave me my black theme which I'll keep to throughout the album. And one day, I'll really do it! If I Didn't And I guess it's true though some folk might think it's too late, it's already happened! So, until the next prompt (next month)...
