Painting fun!

It's great to get messy and even better that acrylics seem to clean up and wash off so easily! Here's a few more los and ideas from the BPS Got Paint class: Now I need to do something with all these backround pages! Having fun with the los though.

Got Paint!

I sure have with this class from BPS taught by Emily Falconbridge. This is actually week three but I've just done weeks one and two so far. Here's a few of the technique sample pages, which will go into an art journal shortly. Stamping with acrylic paint over a page previously painted with acrylic and wiped with a baby wipe / stamping with different colours onto pp / acrylic glaze (painted with one colour, then another colour wiped over it once it's dry) / etching into wet paint:

This was a lo using the 'graffiti stamping technique' - layering lots of stamps of different colours, with the titled painted on. I took the pic at Flamingoland last summer. I just loved staring at these beautiful and amazing birds.

It's been a tiring week with dental visits and hospital appointments, so it was good to relax and muck about with paints tonight!

Finished!

Phew! Got into gear later on today and managed the last 5 los to finish off the album - that's 30 in all now, and a great record of Christmases over the year. Here's the remainder....

Wild wet and windy - a day to stay in and scrap!

Mind you I haven't actually done much yet today, apart from finish the journalling on one lo. These are the latest additions to the Tales of Christmas Past album, which is now up to 25 los! And I am so hoping I can get it finished soon and move on to something else, though it has been great fun and very satisfying considering I've had these pics for so long now......

Those old Christmas pics

Well continuing the old pics album I've been firing through these los - I find if I'm working on a theme I can go quite quickly - not sure if that's always a good thing though!

On the 12th day of Christmas ....

I finished the journal, with that happy but slightly sad things coming to an end but it's been good feeling! Big thanks to Shimelle and all the folks who've been doing this as well, especially the ladies of the UKS thread! Now if only all the craft stuff would magically tidy itself up ....

5th January

The end is nigh now, only one more day to go! The prompt for today was about packing everything up. Well, I didn't put much out as we went away, so only have a couple of candles and some cards to deal with. The artistic challenge was to include something that might otherwise get discarded -so I used the tag that my sister had made and hung round the neck of the adorable Lindt reindeer that was sitting at my dinner place on New Year's Day.
And while all the Christmas stuff is out, I decided to actually do some los last night too! These are all old Christmas pics, from 92, 94 and 95! And I finally got round to using some of Scrapagogo's last year's Christmas kit!!

Friday 4 January 2008

Up to date on the Christmas Journal now

And resisting the temptation to just go and ahead and finish it two days early .....

I did it! 52 art journal cards on display ...

I can't believe that it's been a whole year since this started, and I can hardly believe I actually kept it going and finished it! Big thanks to Emily Falconbridge for this, for getting me thinking, and making me realise I can play with paints and 'arty' things, and have great fun too. This is all the cards together: in a big heap / in week order like a big set of dominoes / some of my favs / and all in their home box.

Catching up on Christmas!

Hi there and Happy New Year everyone! I was away quite a bit over the holidays so not a lot got done on the journal as a daily event, but had a bit of a catch up last night and have done up to the 30th now, so onwards into the New Year period later today then.... This is the title page, I quite like these quick simple los!!
